Bothwell SpinIn 2013
What a great day I had at the recent Bothwell SpinIn - I hope you all did too. Congratulations to the organising committee, it was a job well done.
Pictured above are some of the many contestants in the Guild sponsored Highland Championship. Each team of four was chosen randomly and then given some greasy wool to flick, spin, ply and knit into a small "mystery" pattern. Most teams came in around the hour or just over and I think everyone had a wonderful time participating. Our thanks to Cheryl and Lynne for organising it.
Congratulations to Blanche who won both the Pam Trottman Memorial prize for the Longest Thread entered by a Tasmanian Guild member and also the Margaret Hortle Memorial prize for the Longest Thread entered by a Tasmanian.
The Guild display was magnificent - thanks to those who took the time to transport items and help with the setup. Unfortunately I can't show you all the pictures I took but here are some samples.
Outside the main hall were lavish stalls selling fibres and equipment as well as plenty of food. I missed the sheepdog trials and also the opportunity to talk with some of the international guests. I hope you will make a comment below and share your favourite moments from this year's Bothwell SpinIn.
