Guild was invited to participate in the Cascades Female Factory Open Day on Mother's Day 2016. The aim was to demonstrate our crafts as they may have been undertaken in times gone by, and to engage with the public. It was a terrific success, visitors were genuinely interested in spinning and weaving and our display of completed articles such as scarves, dyed fibre, skeins of yarn, cordata leaves, cones of cotton such as may have been imported to weave curtains etc, bags of fleece, shears, carders and spindles. Don, Alan, Cathy, Christine, Megan, Dorothy and Valeri had a most enjoyable time, and good on you Chris for wearing your shawl, it really did look the part.
