About the Event
If you have ever thought you would like to learn to weave, this is the workshop for you! The Rigid Heddle loom enables beginners to produce beautiful cloth on a simple loom over a short learning program. Read to the end for the link to book your place.
Our tutor, Eva Ruzicka, is very experienced using a rigid heddle loom and is keen to see new weavers experience the joy of creating lovely fabric. She will guide you through the steps involved from getting to know the loom and setting it up to weaving your first piece of cloth - in this case, a plain weave scarf which you can take home, wash, fluff up and wear for the still chilly Tasmanian weather. Eva will also show you the wide choice of patterns and designs possible on a rigid heddle loom to whet your appetite for further weaving.
Looms and full notes will be provided for this workshop, which is conducted over two (2) consecutive Saturdays in October. Once your booking is confirmed you will be sent course requirements including a small materials list within seven (7) days. Please make sure you read our "Terms and Conditions" when you book for this program, as no refunds or 'makeup' classes outside the workshop will be given should you not attend the two days. A condition of attendance at this workshop is that you must be, at a minimum, double COVID vaccinated. Proof of vaccination required on attendance.
Cost: Guild members: $120.00
