Learn to Spin - SOUTH 2023

Learn to spin raw wool fleece into yarn. During this workshop, you will learn how to wash, prepare, spin and ply a basic 2 ply yarn from wool. No previous knowledge or experience of spinning is required. Wool fleece will be supplied for the workshop. ENROLMENT FOR THIS WORKSHOP OPENS 29 APRIL 2023.

About the Event

This workshop is conducted on two Saturdays in June separated by a two week period for you to complete a task at home.  The dates are 3rd and 17th June 2023.

You don't need to own a spinning wheel, but you may have a spinning wheel you wish to bring. Otherwise, a limited number of wheels will be available for use on the day. Please indicate if you need a spinning wheel when you enrol. The cost of this workshop is $120 for Guild members, $170 for non-members.  A small materials charge to be paid in cash on the day will also apply - the amount will be advised before enrolment commences.

The workshop space will be open 15 minutes beforehand only as the area needs to be set up that morning for this workshop.  Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring something to share for morning tea plus your own lunch.  A refrigerator is available for lunch contents that need refrigeration.  Further details of the program will be provided on enrolment.

The number of participants required for this program is 6. The Guild reserves the right to cancel or reschedule this program if enrolments are less than 6.  The maximum number of participants is 8.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the workshop if any event outside our control prevents the workshop taking place (for example, Covid). There is limited parking in the Church grounds, and street parking is available around the area.

Please make sure you read our "Terms and Conditions" when you book for this program, as no refunds or 'makeup' classes outside the workshop will be given should you not attend the two days.
