About the Event

If you have ever thought you would like to learn to weave, this is the workshop for you!  The Rigid Heddle loom enables beginners to produce beautiful cloth on a simple loom over a short learning program.  Read to the end for the link to book your place.  Bookings open on Saturday 17 June and close  Friday 7 July 2023 and unfortunately, no places can be held for participants beforehand.

Please make sure you read our "Terms and Conditions" when you book for this program, as no refunds or 'makeup' classes outside the workshop will be given should you not attend the two days.  A condition of attendance at this workshop is that you must be, at a minimum, double COVID vaccinated. Proof of vaccination required on attendance.

Our tutor, Eva Ruzicka, is very experienced using a rigid heddle loom and is keen to see new weavers experience the joy of creating lovely fabric.  She will guide you through the steps involved from getting to know the loom and setting it up to weaving your first piece of cloth - in this case, a plain weave scarf which you can take home, wash, fluff up and wear for the still chilly Tasmanian weather.  Eva will also show you the wide choice of patterns and designs possible on a rigid heddle loom to whet your appetite for further weaving.

Looms and full notes will be provided for this workshop, which is conducted over two (2) Saturdays in July 2023. Once your booking is confirmed you will be sent course requirements. The tutor will supply materials which will incur a small fee, to be paid in cash on the day and you will be advised of this amount beforehand.

Cost: Guild members: $120.00

           Non-members:  $170.00

BOOK HERE from Saturday 17 June 2023.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the workshop if any event outside our control prevents the workshop taking place (for example, Covid). There is limited parking in the Church grounds, and street parking is available around the area.
