About
I initially joined the Guild in 1984, but due to living in a very isolated part of Tas I never met another member! I had spun since I was 17 yrs old and dabbled in weaving on an Ashford 4-shaft table loom purchased from The Lalla Wool Shed. I made many knitted garments in the 80's but turned away from handspun as it became less trendy (shame!)
I started spinning again in the early 2000's but not regularly. After being given a nice fleece in 2018, I re-discovered the pleasurable activity of spinning, and contacted the Lton Guild group in 2020. What joy to meet these fabulous fibre and fabric obsessed people! I have learnt SO MUCH in the time since and have a home bulging with all kinds of fluffy stash and now have 3 looms. My knitting ability has also grown considerably. I am so grateful for the enthusiasm and willingness to share skills and knowledge, found every week at Guild sessions.
The members of the Guild are my tribe :)
