About the event

You have woven your cloth, now is the time to go the next step and learn how to make a pattern, cut and sew it into a garment.

Viv Crawford has run a number of workshops to help weavers get the most out of the process of making and creating items from their weaving.  Join Viv for this one day workshop, where you will learn how to draft a pattern in the morning, then move to cut the cloth and begin sewing in the afternoon. Please click on "read more" as you will need this information in order to decide whether this workshop is for you.

You need to meet with Viv beforehand, to look at your finished fabric and discuss styles and appropriate use of the cloth you have produced.  You will need a length of cloth which has been washed and ironed;  and a windcheater that fits the way you want your finished piece to fit. For the workshop, you will also need to bring a sewing machine and accoutrements.

Viv will organise this meeting with you once you have fully enrolled in the workshop.

Places are limited to 6 participants. The Guild reserves the right to cancel or reschedule this program if enrolments are less than 6.

It is important that you bring your requirements for comfort and health.  (e.g. reading glasses)

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the workshop if any event outside our control prevents the workshop taking place (for example, Covid).
