We are very pleased to offer this popular workshop again - an introduction to lace weaves, its myriad possibilities, and a love affair in the making! Di Kearney will introduce you to four styles of lace weaving and the design possibilities each of them offer over a 2-day workshop.

About the event

This workshop will provide an introduction to a variety of enticing lace weaves with their myriad possibilities - Spot Bronson (which is not really a lace, but which provides an introduction), Lace Bronson, Swedish Lace and Huck Lace. You will be introduced to the differences between these weaves and also some of their design possibilities via a “Round Robin” style of workshop where you get to weave samples on already prepared warps on a variety of 4 and 8 shaft table looms. You will be able to take home the samples that you weave on the various looms and you will receive notes related to the workshop. Participants will also get to use a variety of different types of fibres so as to gain experience of how these might behave when used in lace structures. Colour use will also be discussed.
