Learn to spin raw wool fleece into yarn. During this 2 day workshop, you will learn how to wash, prepare, spin and ply a basic 2 ply yarn from wool. No previous knowledge or experience of spinning is required. All materials and spinning wheels are supplied.

About the event
We are delighted to offer this popular workshop again this year. This Learn to Spin workshop will be conducted on two Saturdays, 17 and 31 May, separated by a two week period for you to complete a task at home. Over the two sessions you will learn how to wash and prepare a fleece, then use it to spin and ply a basic 2 ply yarn. No previous knowledge or experience of spinning is required.
Dates and times: Saturday 17 May, 9:30am to 3:30pm and Saturday 31 May, 9:30am to 3:30pm
What we will provide: use of Guild spinning wheels and other equipment, workshop notes, all materials except 4 ply yarn.
What you need to bring: 1 ball of 4 ply wool or synthetic yarn (not precious), your lunch and something to share for morning tea (tea and coffee will be provided)
