Learn to spin raw wool fleece into yarn. During this 2 day workshop, you will learn how to wash, prepare, spin and ply a basic 2 ply yarn from wool. No previous knowledge or experience of spinning is required. All materials and spinning wheels are supplied.

About the event

164This Learn to Spin workshop will be conducted on two Saturdays, 2 and 16 May, separated by a two week period for you to complete a task at home.  Over the two sessions you will learn how to wash and prepare a fleece, then use it to spin and ply a basic 2 ply yarn. No previous knowledge or experience of spinning is required. You will have the opportunity to hire a spinning wheel to use for practice at home between the two workshop sessions.


Dates and times: Saturday 2 May, 9:30am to 3:30pm and Saturday 16 May, 9:30am to 3:30pm

Tutor: Amanda Ellis

Cost: $164 per person

What we will provide: use of Guild spinning wheels and other equipment, workshop notes, all materials except 4 ply yarn.
