About the event
This is an opportunity to meet with Guild members across the state. Â We meet in the street in the middle of town between the Hall and the Wool Centre. If you haven't visited the Wool Centre before, this is a great chance to see a very interesting history of wool in Tasmania and to examine a range of actual fleeces from our state's clip. Â The hall has also been hired in case it rains, although activities usually take place outside to enjoy the summer sunshine.
Those coming need to bring their spinning wheel (or portable weaving loom), their own chairs (as none are provided) and a sunhat and sunscreen, although the trees do provide some shade. Members also need to take their own food and drink or they can purchase food in the town and should also wear their membership/name badge if possible. Public toilets are located nearby. People usually arrive from around 9.30am onwards, and depart when they like.
