If you haven't used a 4 shaft loom before and are keen to give it a try, this is the workshop for you! You will be in a small group of 6 people and learn how to warp up a 4 shaft loom and all the steps for weaving and finishing your own scarf.

About the event
If you haven't used a 4 shaft loom before and are keen to learn, this workshop will introduce you to the process of setting up a 4 shaft loom, and getting started on weaving a scarf. Under expert guidance of your tutor Jillian Brammer and two expert weavers, you will prepare a warp the loom, put it onto the loom and commence weaving by the end of the workshop. On the way you will learn language pertinent to weaving, elements of cloth structure, parts of the loom and other equipment, how to calculate the measurements for wool yarn, how a weaving structure is notated and more.
The workshop will run over 2 days, and you will need to take your loom home overnight on Day 1 to thread the heddles and be ready for learning the next steps on Day 2. This will take about 2 - 3 hours so…
