Virtual Dye Day Challenge - Day 1

These skeins from Di Kearney were waiting for their pre-mordant bath in rhubarb leaves. If you are using rhubarb as a mordant, the leaves contain oxalic acid, a poisonous substance. Avoid inhaling fumes and store any liquids away from the reach of children.

How beautiful do they look now? Dyed with peach tree leaves (the two on the left), the middle skein has been modified with iron, and the skeins on the right have been dyed with crepe myrtle leaves. The crepe myrtle skeins had a soda ash modifier applied.
