Virtual Poatina

Updated: Jun 6, 2020

"Thank-you for organising the Virtual Poatina weekend.  I enjoyed it immensely and it gave me the drive and inspiration to get cracking on my weaving loom.

This is my third weaving project, and very much learning as I’m going.

I had some old Patons Boucle yarn in an opal blue/green colour that I decided to use as a weft.  For the warp I had some 8-10 ply dark brown handspun.  I thought the brown would set off the blue/green and look like pops of opal or gem stones peeping from rock and earth.  It took me 3 tries to find a twill that I was happy with.  This one is Coral Twill.  Finished product to be a scarf."

I'm looking forward to seeing this finished, the weft colour should really suit the name of the twill.
