The Tassie Tea Party is Brewing!

The Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania is delighted to announce that our long-anticipated exhibition, The Tassie Tea Party, is nearly ready to serve!

This playful and heartfelt exhibition celebrates the warmth, whimsy and creative spirit of tea parties — Tassie-style! With installations from Guild groups across the state, each tableau tells a story through fibre, form, and imagination, capturing scenes that range from nostalgic to fantastical, and everything in between.
Where & WhenVenue: Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG), Inveresk, Launceston
Exhibition Opening: Saturday24 May 2025 (with a media call on Friday 23 May)
Time: 1.00pm
Public Viewing: From 25 May onwards (exact dates TBC by QVMAG) Opening EventQVMAG will host a High Tea Opening Celebration. Invitations will be managed via Eventbrite, and the link will be circulated by the Guild once available. Please RSVP to secure your spot — and yes, you’re welcome to bring a guest or two!
